Outside of Sundre, Alberta, there is a population of feral horses that live in the beginning slopes of the foothills. I've made two trips to spend time with them, and I have never experienced anything like it. To be in the presence of a small group or a herd of horses that are truly wild, truly under their own jurisdiction, well they have as much similarity to a riding horse as a rocking horse does.
